| Sep. 26th, 2009 07:42 pm Mr Australia & New Zealand Leatherman ... Well, I can't say a lot really other than we had an amazing night, on so many levels, attending the Mr Australia & New Zealand Leatherman competition.
Firstly it was the fact that I was once a gay Leatherman, but am now attending Leather events with my wife! Some people still struggle with this change in my lifestyle, I don't, I love it.
Then there were the fantastic friends we went with, who happened to be all lesbians, attending a primarily gay male event. During the course of the evening, we managed to catch up with some old friends, and make some new ones.
Highlights for us were, my female slave getting some play at the venue from an experienced and respected Gay Leather Master, and it wasn't me! Slave loved every minute of it!
My highlight was realising that I was getting some positive attention. This occured when one of the judging panel decided that I looked alright, and went out of his way to hit on me! The pleasure was all mine! He was HOT!!! Did I mention he was HOT? Very HOT!
Oh, and in case you were wondering, yes, we did watch the final presentation of the awards to the winners. The young leatherman who won thoroughly deserved to win. Congratulations to him.
The only thought I had was, it was rather ironic, that an experienced Leatherman with over 25 years in the scene, comes second to a fresh faced Leatherman, with 18 months experience!
Such is Life.

| Jun. 22nd, 2009 05:23 pm Leather, and WOW! Well,
All I can say at the moment is WOW!
I have for a number of reasons not been out in public recently, and in fact despite my lack of visibility could not be busier or happier. I have always been fortunate in that I have met the right contacts, at the right time, and they have turned out to be exactly what I am looking for. This last year is no different.
Recently my slave and I celebrated our birthdays together in "leather style", and all I can say is WOW!
My recent friendships and partying have left me stunned, and glowing and happy, with memories that will last a life time. However, just to cap it all off, this was for slave's 40th, mine is yet to come next year!
Leather people, who know what respect and honesty really mean, have always been attractive to me. Now I am fortunate to have met some of the best leather minds in Melbourne.
I am looking forward to growing old as a leatherman, surrounded by people who mean so much to me, and me to them.
Thats what leather families are about.
Play safe.
Stay safe.

| Jun. 8th, 2009 05:42 pm My birthday weekend, and slave's as well! I have had a totally amazing 4 day weekend!
It started on Thursday night, when I went off to Spit n Polish at the Laird and had a good time. I got to get my boots polished again - you have got to appreciate the effort that it takes to get mine to a decent shine. I also got to chat with an Old Guard Master, who was able to put me in contact with a few interesting people! Big grin.
Then Friday was a day off work of annual leave. I presented my slave with "part A" of her early birthday present for her 40th birthday - her colours. It was a Leather Pride Flag, in leather of course!
Then we headed into the city for brunch, and to go shopping for "part B" - a vest to which she could have her colours stitched onto.
That night, I was taken to Draculas for dinner, which was my 2nd birthday surprise. My first birthday present being a ride in a tank. Yes you read correctly a tank, 35 tonnes of tracked ex military hardware. All I need to do is book the weekend, on which I wish to go for my ride!
On Saturday night, I surprised slave with her main present, a night of luxury in the amazing Park Hyatt hotel. We checked in around 2pm into our delux spa suite. Then two of our very special leather friends called in to visit. I got given some more leather toys for my birthday, including some very special ones, for my dungeon. So there we were, one fantastic hotel, lots of leather, four of us and ... you can guess the rest. ;)
We then went to dinner in the city - Korean Barbecue, which was fantastic food and very fun. We then went back to the hotel for some more fun times. After our friends left around midnight'ish, we got the spa going before crashing into bed.
The next morning, it was an early rise, in time for some laps in a stunning indoor heated pool, followed by a spa - heaven!
Today has been a slow day today, as all we have done is go to the movies. Of course, that was after more play last night!
A very fantastic weekend, to celebrate my 39th and slave's 40th birthday. I can only imagine what slave will come up with for my fortieth!!
Have a great week. Play safe.
Stay Safe.

| Apr. 5th, 2009 06:37 pm Dungeon additions ... Well,
I have completed my dungeon / play space to my satisfaction, with the final piece of furniture completed today, and tested!
It is very satisfying to build something that is unique to your vision, and has your own personal touches on it - with a few surprises. I have been a leatherman for many years, and today was the first time I have sat in my leather play space, and known I do not wish to add or do anything more to it. I have my place space, leather, my leather friends and my health - life is pretty good right now.
I came to Melbourne wanting to be a part of the leather scene, but now realise I am having more fun, and enjoying life more, away from the scene. The leather scene in Melbourne is not what I expected. It is nice to look into now and then, but as a leatherman, quite frankly I do not need it.
I have made more friends, and done what I have always set out to do, by myself for us, my slave and I. I have really enjoyed the last few weeks, strengthening friendships with others, attending social events with like minded people, away from the scene.
I came to Melbourne wanting to be a part of the leather scene, but found that the real secret to the leather scene in Melbourne, like elsewhere in the world, is not what happens in the scene, but what friendships and play happen in private away from it. We have been very fortunate to have found some fantastic friends, on FL and away from it, and long may those friendships continue. Thank you to those who have helped encourage me on my journey, helped with construction of my play space, and those who stand beside me as friends. If you want to find me, you know where I will be, in the dungeon ...
Play safe.
Stay safe.

| Mar. 15th, 2009 06:41 pm Leather night / boot polish. Well I had an interesting night last night. I went to the Laird for a Melbourne Leather Men event, a fund raiser to send the MLM contestant from the Laird to International Mr Leather in Chicago. It was an interesting night, with lots of guys in leather, and a few hot ones to look at too! It was only the fourth time I had been to the Laird, so it was great to see so many leather guys there.
I got to meet a friend of a very close friend of mine too. So that was cool. But the highlight of the evening was getting my boots polished by one of the resident bootblacks at the Laird. Boot blacking was not very common when I was in the scene in New Zealand, so this was the first time I have had them polished for me! The boots in question still need a little attention to keep the shine permanently, but I never knew they would turn out so good from a polish!
I learned a few things about the local scene, and I still prefer my play in private, but may be venturing out again in the future. I am looking forward to next week, as I have time off from work, and possibly the chance to finish my bondage furniture project. Until then ...
Stay Safe.

| Feb. 8th, 2009 08:22 pm Leatherman ... very flat. Well,
I am very flat at the moment. There are a number of reasons for feeling very flat and "depressed".
Externally, there are the huge walls of fire that are raging through the bush communities of our state, Victoria. Current toll stands at more than 700 homes destroyed, and the death toll is only 67 at present but likely to reach beyond 100. Our thoughts go out to those who have lost homes, family members and their friends. Thankfully we live on the coast, away from the bush, but with 47oCelsius temperatures of late, a grass fire through our community could be just as devastating.
Another reason for feeling flat is cancer. A very close leather friend had an operation on Thursday to remove a "rare in her age group" cancer, and has a nice scar to show for it. This has struck home somewhat, as I have brothers who have had cancer, my mother has had it, and I don't want to lose any more people close to me. Especially leather people.
I am still feeling flat about the local leather scene, of which I had high hopes when coming to Melbourne. It is great if you want to make a name for yourself as being a regular, and go to lots of events and meet new people. But behind the scene there is more political maneuvering than a White House election, between clubs, event organisers of different events, and then there are the personalities themselves.
All I want to do in Melbourne is meet genuine leather people, who are wanting to meet and make new friends, with us. I wanted to meet leather people who were honest and upfront, and ones you could trust, who had no hidden agendas and didn't give a damn about having to go to an event to be seen as being in the "in Crowd" or having to go because you were supporting one event organiser over another. I have quickly worked out that the scene here in some ways is worse than that in little old New Zealand.
I also recently removed someone from my friends list on another site. Does she know, I don't know. If she does I haven't been told or let her know. The reason was I don't like being lied too, or called a liar. A number of people who are close to / friends with her, have asked to be friends with me, but they are not the sort to return emails, and I don't necessarily want to be friends with them, if they have ulterior motives.
I guess true friends are hard to find.
At the end of the day, I can be grateful for what I do have. I have my slave, my leather, my past of fantastic memories, and my leather "family" here and overseas. Who they are, and what they mean to me, is for me and my slave to know. I am respected only by those that I respect equally. I think that is the key to me, and my leather lifestyle.
I am not in my lifestyle to make a name for myself in my community, or to rebuild what has been shattered by infighting amongst groups and individuals in our community. I enjoy leather and the lifestyle because I am a leatherman. I know what the stripes on the Leather Pride flag mean - unlike many in our community who know what the flag means but not the significance behind the design.
That basically sums up the local scene, many people wanting to be seen as leather, but not knowing what is leather, when they get into the scene. Confusion. Politics. FIGJAM (Fuck I am Great, Just Ask Me). Wanna-bees.
I feel better already knowing I don't have to put up with that bullshit. Because I have what I have wanted for so long, and others can only dream about.
Have a great week.
Play Safe.
Stay safe.

| Jan. 26th, 2009 07:42 pm A friend asked me this weekend, what I was looking for, after I had earlier explained my disappointment with the local leather/bdsm scene. So what am I looking for?
I have most of what I am looking for already. I have my slave, my leather, my lifestyle and my friends who are very close to me. I am looking to socialise and make new friends with like minded individuals, into leather and the leather lifestyle. I am looking to be accepted and respected by those that I will come to hold in high regard, and whom I will also respect equally. I am looking to meet genuine people, who have a genuine interest in leather, or are interested in being friends with us.
Sadly in the local scene there are few that I would put in that category. I am NOT looking to be a mentor, to create a leather family, or to get involved directly in any group targeted at the leather community or to be the next high profile leatherman in a community where reputation is everything and knowledge and common sense mean nothing. If I sound disillusioned with the local scene there is a reason, I am. In the short time I have been in the local scene I have seen enough to know, this experienced leatherman will be keeping his distance. We will still attend events when we choose to do so, and I will still support leather events that I feel need my support. However I am happier hanging out with my close leather friends, than going to events and trying to find "the one", or trying to be included in the "In crowd" of local high profile community celebrities. I have found what I am looking for, friendship with leatherfolk who mean a great deal to me.

| Jan. 6th, 2009 08:13 pm Questions about the Leather lifestyle? Well,
I have been thinking, which is dangerous I know, but I tend to have the same sort of questions going through my mind. The questions are simple yet based on the Leather lifestyle, the answers are not.
Why is it that in the Leather community protocol is often followed, but common courtesy is not? Why do people who often preach protocol and etiquette often have none? Why do so many leather people lie when what they are trying to hide is public knowledge? Why do so many leather people have profiles on various sites stating they have years of experience, and yet do not wear leather to events? If someone asks for specialist advice, and you say you can provide the information and answers, why do they not respond to emails? Why is there so much division in our local BDSM/Leather community? Why do so many new bdsm events attract many, yet local Leather events with history attract so few? Why is needle play seen as the big attraction to watch at public events? Why is it that we shifted to Melbourne looking forward to joining a large Leather community, and found a small one? Why am I so happy and relaxed around my extended Leather family? And finally the biggest question of the year is ... What are we going to organise for slave's 40th Birthday this year?

| Jan. 1st, 2009 05:17 pm Leather thoughts of 2008 and the New Year, 2009. Well,
The year of 2008 has come to an end, with some great memories, a few sad ones, three ambulance rides for myself and some new friendships established. It has been one of those upside down years, where the unexpected happened on a fairly regular basis.
The year 2009 has started off very well, with some definite aims in place for the year ahead. One thing that has been in my thoughts lately though is how disappointed I was in the local leather scene in Melbourne in 2008. It did have its high points such as the Leather Pride event, which we both enjoyed very much. Also in 2008 we have made some great leather friends, which we still continue to see.
One of the biggest disappointments though is the large number of "leather" people who we have met, and their dress code or lack of in the BDSM/Leather community. Some of these persons I refer to label themselves as "experienced" leather individuals or belonging to a leather family, and yet have not been seen wearing leather to any event we have attended all year. It is difficult to locate members of a leather community if they do not wear leather to a leather or bdsm event. This does not leave a good impression on those new to the scene in Melbourne, or even for an experienced leatherman like myself.
I do not see how one can justify calling yourself a leather person if you do not wear leather?!
I am a leatherman. As a leatherman I will always wear leather to a BDSM or Leather event. I am not into Latex / PVC / Rubber / Lycra or any other fetish you can mention. I just hope that in 2009 that the Leather community raises its profile a little, or at the least, those that run Leather/BDSM events and identify as leather, actually wear leather this year! Enough of my ranting, have a great 2009 to all who read this.

Dec. 20th, 2008 01:02 pm Fun New Years resolution ... In 2009, leather2 resolves to... Give up reading. Go to bdsm every Sunday. Give some leather shops to charity. Take evening classes in top. Stop bootblacking with leathersub. Backup my butch regularly. Leave a comment

| Dec. 7th, 2008 08:44 am The road to recovery .. My leather family. Well, I am now able to get up and about, as the back injury is healing up. This is due to the huge volumes of morphine, panadeine forte, valium, voltaren and other pain reducing / anti inflammatory drugs that I have consumed in hospital over Moday and Tuesday, and the last few days. Yesterday I was able to go shopping with slave, and spend some quality time with our extended leather family, which was really nice. I even got given two gifts, to help me get around easier - although one of which is multi purpose and will end up in the dungeon! More toys!! I am so lucky to have my slave, and my leather family as support. I was even able to convince my mother I did not need her to fly over from NZ to look after me! No need to de-kink the dungeon.
Although over the course of Monday my brother in-law saw the dungeon - while shifting the spare bed downstairs for me to sleep on. Nothing was said, yet. Today will be a quiet day spent with slave, some more shopping, and looking forward to returning to work later in the week. I hope you all have a great week. Play Safe. Stay safe. Master Adam. | Oct. 5th, 2008 02:31 pm Melbourne Leather Pride Festival 2008 Well, I have been rather busy, with the Leather Pride festival being on. This was a fortnight of fun filled activities, of which we had intended to get to thirteen of them!
There was leather shopping, parties and events, workshops and other activities leading up to the competition for Mr Leather, Australia & New Zealand. The winner was a guy from Queensland, whose win was based more on his looks than his public speaking ability. I do hope he gets some more public speaking lessons, before he gets to International Mr Leather 2009 in Chicago!
One of the workshops we attended was called, Make an Impact! I had been eagerly awaiting for this, after several attempts to run the workshop earlier in the year did not get going. It was not so much about learning news skills, but more about seeing how my favourite workshop topic is presented by others. I have run workshops myself on flogging etc.
One of the highlights of the festival for me was the shopping tour. The recipe for a great day included one double decker bus, The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence - nuns with beards, Dee Dee Dazzler - drag queen, and a half dozen of us hearty souls who bothered to turn up. Simply add 4 bottles of vodka, orange juice, and enough kinky/leather shops to threaten any credit card, and things turn from boring to hilarious very fast! And to think both of us hardly drink!!
Just to cap off a great fortnight the organiser of the whole event gave me a gift for attending the events. I will wear it with Pride!
I hope your lives have been exciting as well. Stay safe. Play safe. Master Adam. 1 comment - Leave a comment

| Apr. 27th, 2008 07:25 pm Leather, and more possibilities .... Well, I have had an amazing weekend, now if only I can get the crazy smile off of my slave's face ....
My slave, in her owns words said "I gave her the best, most satisfying spanking ever" on Friday. This was followed by a visit to one of Melbourne's biggest BDSM clubs on Saturday night. There we met a bi/lesbian newbie who is wanting me to teach her about flogging / leather & bdsm. Also there was her partner who I thought was very hot, although she is also a top, damn! Along with this couple were another couple, who wished to borrow some of my toys. No problem. Then slave and I got to watch four rather hot women in a 1 hour plus S&M scene. Finally once they had finished and returned my gear it was my turn. I gave slave a mild/heavy flogging, which after an hour of watching girl / girl action previously, put slave's mind level some where else ... like on another planet! I had one very happy slave!
Just to finish off the night, the leather couple we met want to catch up again ... more fun! Today my cross arrived, and I have almost finished my spanking stool. My Dungeon is almost complete, my slave may have someone new to play with, and I have found two new friends into Leather. Fantastic weekend!!!

| Apr. 5th, 2008 05:50 pm The smell of timber and leather ... Well, Our new furniture arrived today. We have a new TV. entertainment unit for the lounge, a long low set of shelves for the study, and another long low set of shelves for the Dungeon /playroom! That also means that the timber legged table that the TV was resting on can be used for other things. I will be converting it into a spanking stool/bench for the dungeon. Finally with shelves in the dungeon, my collection of literature, and safe sex material has somewhere to reside in the open, rather than stored away in a cupboard. All we need now is a St Andrews cross and the dungeon will be starting to look just the way I had planned. I already know of a professional BDSM furniture maker, who will be able to custom make, just what I require. The final stage in constructing the dungeon, is an elaborate timber suspension frame that I have designed. Then my dungeon will be complete.
I just love the smell of timber and leather! Master Adam. Current Location: Dungeon Current Mood: horny

| Mar. 9th, 2008 06:59 pm This Leatherman is now married! ***NEWS FLASH - THIS LEATHERMAN IS NOW MARRIED** See below for more details.
I proposed to my partner on boxing day (26 Dec 2005), and finally got married on 29th February 2008. On April 25th 2008, it will be our four year anniversary together. Our views haven't changed, if anything it has just brought us closer together. Marriage has not changed the fact that we are looking for a bi-female third to join us, in a leather relationship.
I started this journal with the hope of finding other leather lifestyle people out there. My submissive partner in our leather/bdsm lifestyle has a journal on here also, she is known as leathersub. Unfortunately due to the fact I spend less time on here than I would like to, my posts are few and far between. However if you would like to drop me a line to say hi, feel free to do so.
I first got into BDSM/Leather twenty years ago. I have belonged to, and am currently still a member of a number of online bdsm community groups.I have also set up one group, organised events, and attended large parties etc.
It is only My recent relationship that has made me realise that, although I like to go to such events, I like my privacy also. My slave/partner is pursuing a high profile career, and so our privacy is important to Us.
We like to talk to other Leather people regardless of their sexual preferences or orientation, ....... it doesn't matter if you are gay, straight, bisexual, lesbian, leatherdyke, leatherboy or whatever. We would love to hear from you.
Play safe. Stay safe. Adam. Current Location: Dungeon / playroom Current Mood: happy Current Music: None.

| Jan. 19th, 2008 08:45 pm Shifting ... Piercing Well, Here is the latest news from this leather man .... I/we are shifting house! We are shifting from a small two bedroom flat, into a huge HOUSE. The new place has three bedrooms, a study, large kitchen and equally large lounge. I am looking forward to converting one of the bedrooms into our dungeon/play space. Just to give you an idea of size, the Lounge is roughly the same size as our entire unit at present! Not only that but it is in a gated and security patrolled subdivision. We will have access to an outdoor pool, and gym, and five minutes away, is a golf course and indoor pool! Life is good. Other news .... Well I took the big step last saturday and got my first(and only!)piercing! We went to a piercing specialist for a look, as slave wants a nose piercing, and wanted a nipple one as well. I ended up getting my nipple done, which I had been thinking of for some time. However after seeing a size 10 gauge needle, My slave says she will not be getting her nipples done! I didn't see the needle, and have it on good authority from slave it was the size of a large drill bit.
The wedding is just around the corner, I have my yearly performance review at work next week, we are shifting house this week, it seems if everything is happening at once. It feels though as we are moving in the right direction.
Hopefully one day we will have someone special to share our life with. Yes our search for a third(bi-female) to join us, has so far been unsuccessful. Perhaps 2008 is the year that it all falls into place?
Take care. Play safe, stay safe. Master Adam. Current Mood: bouncy

| Oct. 7th, 2007 08:26 pm Rugby World Cup .... Well, It was a Huge disappointment to watch the Rugby World cup this morning. Australia, my new home country, were bundled out by England, and then to cap off a bad morning New Zealand - World ranked No.1 and favourites lost to France.
The first half was good / ok - the second half of the game, the game plan appeared to have been left up to the blind man to decide what to do! No game plan, poor tactics, poor execution of bad tactics equals expected result -WE LOST! I now have to wait another four years to see the All Blacks try to win the cup again! The last time they won the Rugby World Cup, I was at High school - 20 years ago!!! End of Story. Play safe, stay safe. Adam. Current Mood: disappointed

| Sep. 30th, 2007 05:32 pm Melbourne BDSM club & play! Well another journal entry,
This time it is after play, at Melboune's best bdsm venue. We went along to see what all the fuss about this club has been about, and liked what we saw. After getting the guided tour of the premises we were able to spend some time in the "members only area", and thankfully I had taken along some gear/toys to use. It was great to have the opportunity to play and give a heavy flogging to my slave, it's been a while, and she loves them! In fact slave and I are still recovering from last night ... slow day today! Evil grin! ;)

| Aug. 19th, 2007 08:35 pm Good Weekend ....Play Space. Well, This weekend has been good, and I feel that despite slave being sick I have achieved a lot.We managed to go shopping, at a fantastic book shop, and I picked up two Leather lifestyle books I have always wanted since entering this lifestyle.
After that We were invited to a private BDSM party in the next fortnight. Having been living in this city for 7-8 months, this is the first Private invite We have recieved. Given that We know some of the people going, I would say it will be quite an interesting night!
Just to cap off a great weekend, I have been able to convert the spare room into a play space/dungeon!It is nice and almost complete, it just needs a St Andrews cross, and for myself to finish a small bondage piece I have planned ... and then the fun will really start!
